Hi orda,

Neither MS nor Intel break out their expenditures on TC so we don't actually know the quantity. But both MS and Intel appear to have done a great deal of work to ensure compatibility and the work they did on Palladium and LaGrande has doubtless been transported to the TCG platform as far as it is useful and useable.

Even so, if you look at what they have created in respect of the TCG architecture, they are investing in different aspects of TC than Wave. So there are crossovers (eg BitLocker sorta contradicts SEDs and sorta doesn't), but they are mostly supporting and extending their proprietary tools and Wave is supporting and extending the cross-platform opportunity.

So there's a shared interest in the US government employing TCG solutions. Wave's portion of that is different from the bit that MS and Intel want to make money from.

Microsoft and Intel have spent very little on TC. In fact, isn't that one of Wave's strengths, that they're the ones invested heavily in the opportunity?

I bet Microsoft and Intel invested more heavily in their own initiatives like Palladium/NGSCB and LaGrande than TC.
