...da energy is already stored in oil. Ya uses the windmills to power current needs and uses da oil for backup. The oil ya don't burn is yer stored energy.

Yeah . . .
Hydroelectric pumped storage. Dominion Resources
has one . . they use the nukes to pump water up
the hill by night . . then run it back down through
the generators to make power by day.

I can see using hydrogen . . and hydrogen fuel cells
to 'store power'. (Use surplus watts to split water
molecules and liberate the hydrogen . . . then when
peak demand is on run the hydrogen through the fuel
cell to make watts.)

However. Solar cells make the most power when the
sun is shining brightest - right in the middle of the
peak demand hours.
