Yes, micro ... you have touched upon the real issue, here. Every time Conservatives suggest it is way past time to open up the drilling and refining of our own very plentiful oil & gas reserves in this country, the leftists always whine and respond that it would not help bring down today's high prices. Well ... NO SHIT ... however, that is nothing but a pathetic, juvenile argument meant to dismiss rather than discuss the issue. If leftists were rational people instead of mindless ideologues and had been more amenable to domestic oil & gas production and refining, in the past, we would now be producing a much, much greater percentage of our own fuel needs, the prices would be below where they are now, and it would have already created hundreds of thousands of jobs that we are in desperate need of, now. There is a significant lead time in ramping up increased oil & gas production and refining, so you obviously have to start at some point in order to be up and running, in the future. Problem is, leftists, being juveniles with the attention span of a gnat, only want to try their ideologically pure, "quick-fix" ideas that they can implement immediately through centralized control from the federal government ... which actually only serve to make matters worse (because leftists don't understand free markets, at all!) ... but all the resulting failure, destruction, angst, and suffering from their ineptitude suits them, in the long run, because they don't want to let a good crisis (that they've made worse or manufactured in the first place) go to waste in furthering their Socialist/Marxist agenda.

How about we just drill our own and refine our own right here in the USA.

Plenty of it and our COSTS for doing so should not be dictated by SPECULATORS, but by actual costs.

I think it is absolute BS that a barrel of oil, a necessity, is controlled by spot market manipulators.

I don;t recall having these types of problems back in the Sixties when the oil and gas industry was REGULATED.

Seems like the wild swings didn't exist. I know that prices will naturally need to have increased but I think when you go form 35 cents per gallon of gas to around $225 per gallon, that is a significant increase, much less this current pricing we are seeing.

Let's bring this spot market pricing DOWN by opening up our potential and stipulating it is for American use. I would be willing to bet that the price of oil on the CME will plummet below $70 per barrel.

I also think the EPA stranglehold on gasoline BLENDS needs to end and right now.

It is BS for some portions of the country to have a lot of additives blended into the gasoline, costing much more that those gasolines that do not.

When its summertime, it's going to get hot. That is nature. Nature has a way of churning up storms and winds to blow away and clean up the air all on its own. It has been doing it since the earth came to be.

Anyway, just my two cent ramble for the morning.

Have a great day all!
