... If you have more children than you can afford, it is not incumbent on the rest of society to assume the financial burden for your irresponsibility. You have the right to have as many children as you want. You also have the responsibility to take care of em yourself. If you are pregnant and on public assistance, then you should be given an abortion whether you want it or not.

ribit, I disagree, I do not support the notion that federally funded institutions provide care for child birth for the first child, but withhold it for the second. That's called China. In our more pluralistic society, I believe it is within federal providence to make rules prohibiting the cherry picking of medical benefits for birth control (Georgetown) or second children (Peoples Republic of China).
