...the rich don't care cause they got plenty of money. The poor don't care cause they gonna get gubmint gas coupons. Nobody will be effected except the people who make the country work.

Obviously, high prices are one way to reduce our use of gasoline, promote alternatives, and conserve on oil. A dubious strategy, and a most hazardous one for any politician's career. Americans regard it as their god-given right to pissaway our oil reserves as rapidly as possible and screw the next generation - Let them ride bicycles. Gonna get me an F-650.
