Riana,

Crocheting is one of my favorite hobbies.
My oldest son recently requested a king size afghan for their bedroom, this is the largest I ever made. Can't wait to give it to him when he visits, hopefully around Easter. He lives in PA.
The picture doesn't do justice to the colors, a natural & a soft bronze/gold with a slight sheen for the accent.

Every new baby gets a crib blanket, often with a hat. Most members have an afghan.
Christmas, my daughter & her 2 sons, my youngest son & his daughter, my oldest for the family room & his 2 daughters.

Years ago on the cover of a mag, a knitted blanket with a basket of flowers & ribbon needlepointed with yarn, I made it. If I get a chance I'll take a picture & post it. That is really special.

While knitting and crocheting aren't in my needlework repetoire, I've always wanted to learn. Maybe I'll have one of my friends try to teach me again.

The current resurgence of hand-knitting and crochet may very well owe its popularity to the desire for promised health benefits. The health benefits of knit and crochet have been touted for decades by their practitioners, and doctors are finally agreeing.

Knitting, crochet, and the other needle arts are traditional crafts dating back thousands of years. Although factories took over mass clothing and linen manufacturing in the early 20th century, millions of people have returned to hand work for both quality of product and quality of life. Clearly, the majority of knitters and crocheters don’t perform their chosen arts because of necessity—there must be other reasons.
