...the b52 bomber is fifty years old and they still use it. The enterprise is 22 years old and has to be decomissioned? Well, that's still better than the life span of yer average nfl football stadium.

It always surprises me when a ship like this one gets mothballed. Okay... so it is 22 years old. (I assume that 1 deployment = 1 year.) Is it really cheaper to scrap a 22 year old ship than to refurbish it? I'd think some company would love to make a floating hotel out of her, if nothing else.

'Enterprise' is probably neck-and-neck with 'Constitution' as the most popular of all military vessel names. Somehow, I don't think it will be long before the nation is christening a new 'Enterprise.'
