One more time.

Investing for yourself with your own money things
like VALE are fine - if you can handle the risk.

But for your daughter's long term financial happiness
you need to look at the more 'conservative' type
companies.

Have you ever read Benjamin Graham's "The Intelligent
Investor"?

I read it once. It is still on my shelf. I did not
understand a lot of it . . . but I understood enough
to know that there is a difference between 'investing'
and 'speculating' . . . with 'speculating' being
more like gambling.

Hi Zim:

I intended to reallocate my daughter's 401k monies for her. My wife told me to leave her 401k alone, and build her a separate stock portfolio of equal value. Gives me a chance to look at individual stocks again which I haven't been doing much lately. 2011 was a very dull and profitless year for me. 2012 has been great so far.
