Home schooling is terrible on multiple levels. It is a huge subject and I don't have time to write a thesis, but it's just terrible. When 50 years earlier, young men, most of them in their twenties, sent men to the moon, it is a terrible thing to have happen to children at this time.

We need education, sophistication, culture, technology, math, science, reading and writing skills achieved by reading everything, not just what conforms with a parent's idea of the world, etc., in order to excell. It is no surprise that the best decades this country ever had were those in which it was in turmoil, when the chains of conformity, indoctrination, and suppression were being shattered!

We are about to have another such decade when all of us who could never think there is a real problem still lurking in the woodwork, wake up and fight.

Look at Santorum: Do you think this religious freak can home school anyone to compete in this global village? He's not into expanding a child's horizons, he's about molding them into a flat earth's! No offspring of his will ever accomplish anything, unless it is a specimen resistant to being limited to it's own father's view of the world, and buying it wholesale.

While I am a proponent of home schooling, academics is not everyone's strong suit.

My problem is that people complain about schools teaching things that are 'immoral' or otherwise in conflict with their personal beliefs, so they don't want ANY student being given the information. How about teaching it to your own children yourselves?

Children are being raised with the morals of the education system, which may or may not be the morals of their parents and/or communities.
