I agree, clo - parents and school should work together.

The problem is, too many parents abdicate their responsibility to teach their children what they want them to learn (in terms of moral issues) and want the school to do it. If what the school teaches is in conflict with what they want their children to learn, they insist that no students are taught the subject matter. And the children suffer, as NO ONE teaches them ANYTHING.

Hi Riana,

I don't see this as an either or issue.

Parents & the schools/teachers should work in tandem.

Often parents have some difficulty discussing sex & the body's functions with their children.

Heck, when I was a kid we 'taught' each other what we 'knew', which was often not correct.
Parochial school wasn't ANY help for us! ;)
