I don't see the USA the way you do.
In a healthy state/country, We are interdependent.
In order to live among others we need to be accountable, politically too.
Like you, 'religion(s)' have left a bad taste in my mouth & all too often have given divine power to the wrong people.
IMO, 'parties' do make differences.
Look at the obstructionist congress since the 2010 election, the worst in history, 10% approval.
They believe 'compromise' is a dirty word, Bohenor 'leading' the mantra....
Democrats are usually willing to compromise, for the good of the whole. I prefer that mindset.
When I take an action, (vote) I am doing something, instead of being passive & thus feeling like a 'victim'.
DO SOMETHING!
