That is exactly what I do, clo ... I personally pay for 100% of my high-deductible health insurance coverage and every cent of my family's medical costs until (if ever) the deductible is fully paid. I do not ask for anyone else to cover my expenses for me, unlike poor, lil', helpless Sandra Fluke.
