Somehow I just don't think you can comprehend the
'why' of it all . . .
My portfolio does not allow for 'rabid' buying and
selling of securities. It is geared towards a
long term 'buy and hold forever' strategy.
(Being re-evaluated and adjusted for my long term
goal - ever increasing income levels in permanent
retirement.)
But . . here are some of my favorites.
Dominion Resources. D. An electrical utility
company with a 4% yield.
Heinz. HNZ. Condiments and food stuffs. 3.6%
Heinz is a 'perennial' dividend increaser.
Proctor & Gamble. A relatively new addition to
my portfolio sporting a 3% yield. (First bought
in 2010.)
I've owned McCormick, MKC, since 2007. Another
one that likes to increase the dividend - current
yield 2.5%.
I also like Clorox (CLX), Kimberly Clark (KMB),
Duke Energy (DUK), Spectra Energy (SE), and
several others.
I recently sold out of Central Vermont (another
electrical utility). CV sports a 2.6% dividend
yield - which, for a power company, sucks. CV has
not raised the dividend ever, that I know of. I
first bought some CV in 2001.
By the way, I've owned some of my Dominion Resources
since 1997.
