From the department of the unexpected: Roger Ailes, chairman and CEO of the conservative Fox News Channel, has offered some very kind words to grace the back-cover of a new book by liberal MSNBC personality Rachel Maddow.
Maddow's new book, "Drift: The Unmooring of American Military Power," comes out later this month, and features blurbs from high-profile journalists and Maddow Show guests such as Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Steve Coll; social activist and author Naomi Klein; New York Magazine columnist Frank Rich; and "This American Life" host Ira Glass.
But there too -- below NBC's Tom Brokaw and above Rolling Stone's Matt Taibbi -- is Ailes, who writes:
“Drift never makes the case that war might be necessary. America would be weakened dramatically if we had underreacted to 9/11. However, Rachel Maddow makes valid arguments that our country has been drifting towards questionable wars, draining our resources, without sufficient input and time. People who like Rachel will love the book. People who don’t will get angry, but aggressive debate is good for America. Drift is a book worth reading.”

Tomorrow: Barack Obama blurbs for Jan Brewer (probably not).
