If you want to know what I guess might have happened if it was more than a mechanical thing - the cactus conspiracy theory view if you will
... I had the impression ahead of time that rumours were flowing through the crack pipe that RSA was an important fixture in Wave's calendar, that Wave and MS were going to make announcements, that a revelation of sorts was in the offing. The imputation that there was more to the MS quote last week than was present is the usual sign of "prescience".
And of course, that was far from true. There was yet more roadmap, and very little destination.
I suspect that the folks who believed whoever it was that originated the rumour finally have had enough of it and decided to move along. Inside information just ain't what it used to be!
Or actually, it is. And that's the problem.
At any rate, that's one guess. And it associates the stock price with the events that have occurred during the week. But really I have no idea.
The bigger problem here is the rate of growth of sales. Incremental growth won't cut the mustard. Maybe the hail mary DoD pass comes off (note, excellent knowledge of US sports terminology!), but for me, I'd like to see a broad swathe of material orders appearing; or a surprise to the upside in the quarterly numbers. Like dig, I'm expecting $37m for 2011. If they sneak inside my target $38-42m I will really be excited. Indeed, after two years of fairly accurate range predictions, I will count myself an analyst rather than just a lucky guesser!!
As regards 2012, I am estimating income of $58-62m for 2012. That's a kind of sane, ambitious but achievable, threshold-for-a-management-bonus range. If the army thing goes into hyperdrive, then the numbers will be much higher - and then who cares what I estimate.
