When GWB signed the executive order lifting the offshore drilling ban, the price of oil went from $140 down to below $50 a barrel. In about six months.

Ten years ago the democraps said drilling new wells would take ten years to make a difference.

Fifteen years go the democraps said drilling new wells would take ten years to make difference.

Twenty years ago the democraps said drilling be wells would take ten years to make difference.

Maybe we shouldn't listen to the democraps?

Hmmmm. . .
The U.S. Navy is buying algae based fuel oil
(at an obscene price . . .)

Windmill generators are producing lots of watts
(and killing lots of birds . . . .)
(Also not truly reliable enough for base load.)

Duke Energy is talking about installing
'utility grade' solar panel installations.
(Tying up valuable farm land . . .)

Me personally?
Algae-oil should be developed - with an eye to
making it cost competitive. (Oil at $100 a barrel
sounds like it might be getting close.)

Windmills do have a place in our energy portfolio.
But so does nuclear and Nuclear IS base load grade
watts.

Solar panels should be installed on grocery store
roofs, schools, warehouses . . . NOT tying up
acres of farm land. (I believe solar cells, which
make their best watts during peak demand hours,
should be used to generate watts in a decentralized
manner throughout the service area - a few tens of
kilowatts here, there . . . )
