Microsoft is an enabler. They must promote many different parts of the Ecosystem. Not unlike Intel, Seagate or Samsung etc.
The fact that they say the TCG has a point and they will adopt it is huge.
The chip makers started to build the tpm chips (Infineon, Intel, Broadcom, Atmel, Sinosun etc. and Sammy is just getting into that game). The PC device OEM's start shipping TPM's in Business class PC's (Dell, Gateway, NEC, HP, Asus,ACER etc.) Then the Hypervisor Companies like WindRiver, Green Hills Integrity, Citrix, LynuxWorks, start building support for their software to support the TPM boot. Along comes the hardware storage OEM's (Seagate, Western Digital, Hitachi, Fujitsu, Micron, Toshiba etc.)that say they support OPAL compliant standards.
Now MicroSoft with their OS. Where are the others? Apple, Google, Rim, Motorola etc.
It's all playing out in front of OUR eyes but hey I'm A DREAMER and we need to see ARM officially at the table with Trusted Computing!
