Perhaps, but based on Santorum's past comments, I suspect that he may have a narrower definition of which religions are covered by that pledge then perhaps do the founders of this group. After all, Rick has already stated that Mormons are not really Christians, and that Protestants in America have 'left the fold' and he still seems to have doubts about Obama being a Christian or a Muslim, as if it's critical that America discovers which one it is (like there's a chance that he might be disqualified to hold office due to that clause in the Constitutional which specifically lists which religions are OK and which are not).

Another reason I say this is because back in 2003 Santorum was a big promoter of torturing Muslim prisoners since his position was that once they told us everything they knew that they would get better treatment and so it was OK to use 'enhanced interrogation' since it was really important that they be 'broken' or else they may simply provide misinformation, but if we managed to destroy their will, then we'd know that whatever we were getting from them would be the truth.

Could his fashion statement be related to OpenDoors.org? As I understand it, it is giving away barbed wire bracelets.

And he is the first (only?) Presidential candidate to sign their Pledge for religious Freedom:
