Hi Cactus Flower,

I too opposed much of the same.
The difference, Chuck was able to admit errors, compromise & garner respect from the other side.
Much like dinosaurs, that's a thing of the past...

You know I have a different opinion about Obama with regard to Iraq. IMO, if he was in the senate at the time, I believe he would have voted for it.
His record has way too many 'present' votes, for me to think he would have taken such a strong stance.
That said, I voted for & fully support Obama.

As to the debate, I caught the first hoour & then sleep took over ;))
Lots of verbal arm wrestling proving who is the toughest SOB.
At least Dr. Ron Paul stated the morning after pill is no different then birth control pills, unlike Mitt & Rick calling them 'abortion pills'...

Oh, an update, Virginia's Gov. McDonnell is backing off of signing a bill to force women to have vaginal ultrasounds prior to having an abortion.
Seems his desire to be a VP for Mitt or Rick supercedes. Thank 'god'.

Hi clo,

I'm afraid I've never heard of him. But looking at his bio on Wikipedia, I was often on a different side.

I was not in favour of the Iraq war, and the decision to launch it turned me against the Republican party more than anything else.

I was not in favour of the Patriot Act, because I think liberty is a robust system.

I was in favour of the surge, which I thought was Bush's most courageous decision.

etc.

I felt I was at odds with the majority of Americans almost the entire Bush era! And then, lo and behold, Obama won and it turned out the sense of a chauvinist majority was a tactic all along.
