Is there a Republican who sees the nomination process as something other than a freak show. Four candidates, each of whom is awash in baggage.

The funniest thing is the idea of Sarah Palin preening about the idea of a brokered convention. Surely she doesn't think she's the compromise candidate? Oh golly. I think she does.

What this campaign has really proved is that there is no longer a single Republican party. In the internet age, the different strands of belief persist and confront one another. Santorum is what they call a conservative, but is actually a primitive moralist. Paul is a Libertarian. Gingrich is a big ego. And Romney represents the Washington establishment. At least three parties wrapped together in disharmony.
