scubavol, when I was in my mid thirties I worked for a welding shop, rebuilding railroad cars. I got a chance to go to work for the phone company and grabed it. Less than a year later a union came to the welding shop and signed up all the workers. They then went to the owner and told him what he would have to pay the workers. He closed the shop and told them to have a nice day. So, instead of making just over minimum wage, they became unemployeed. In a small town like Roscoe, that was a big deal. A few folks learned that unions can be a bad thing.

I see no correlation between the question and my statement of fact. It would be a good question to ask the union worker, but for the fact that between the union and the government, why should they give a shit?
