The stations where the gas was $4.079 Thursday evening, well on Friday morning it was $4.099 for regular, and this morning on my way to church I pass the same station and the price was now up to $4.119. But 90 minutes later, on my way home from Mass, as I passed the station there was a guy updating their sign to read $4.159. So since Thursday morning, the price for regular has gone up 12 cents a gallon. That's an average of 4 cents a day. Perhaps there is something behind that story that there's conspiracy to artificially force the price of gas up to the point where it becomes a political issue which can be leveraged by the GOP in November elections (look at what Santorum said over the weekend, that Obama is responsible for the high price of gasoline and then Newt promises to lower the price to $2.50 if he's elected).
