I've spent a bit of time in an LDS Family History Center nearby.. They have records, worldwide for genealogy research, pretty amazing, wide open, free, only costs are to cover postage for film/fiche retrieval from SLC... Today, most all is online, or at least the indexes.. Nice setup... At SLC, docents, translators are available for your research help, a few folks in our MUG go up a couple times a year...

I put off going locally for years to dodge any evangelizing, don't want or need any of it... But what tipped the idea over for me was that one fellow, a docent there, said, we don't evangelize at all, we come get you later, after you're gone! No problem! But it's surprising they'd impose on the Holocaust victims or families like that...
