I have to agree, the drive-time traffic here in at least Orange Co is much heavier than it was 6 to 9 months ago. In fact, since the first of the year it almost feels like we're moving back toward what it was like 5 or 6 years ago.

Remember when I said three months ago that my unscientific method of determining the state of the economy(heavy traffic at rush hour on the Sprain Brook Pkwy in Westchester) indicated that it was heating up? It is like clockwork. Traffic went down significantly in 2009 and 2010, almost to cruising speeds of over 65mph. At this time, the bottlenecks, slowdowns, rubbernecking, are just like in mid 2000 years. Sometimes in late afternoons it is stop and go.

I think the economy is in even better shape than these numbers indicate. They just haven't caught up yet.

It is happening!
