I don;t know if it is or not PCJ. I will look at that and see. They are supposed to be backward compatible though aren't they?

From what I have uncovered that USB flash reader has got an awful lot of people with the same complaint.

I should have researched that more before hitting the buy button just because it was so inexpensive.

I got what I paid for. Lesson learned.

I think this new Kingston one will be good. I'll let you all know after I get it.

Ah, of course. I jumped ahead on assumption without asking the appropriate troubleshooting question. My bad. I know that the headphone jack on the front of my kids' computer doesn't work, and they have to plug headphones into the back. I haven't taken the time to try to find out why, but assumed yours was a similar situation.

Is the new drive USB 3 by any chance?
