Yes, the front USB port should be able to read the flash drive. It's not an uncommon problem as you can see from this search:

I have purchased a flash memory card reader from NewEgg made by Kingston.

I also ordered an USB extender cable.

I have a SDHC flash memory card that is 32 GB I want to use to store some pictured on.

System is Windows 7 x 64 Pro and USB 2.0

Should the computer read this flash memory reader when I plug it into the usb port on the front of the tower?

The reason I ask is because I just tried with a different reader that takes this flash card and the computer would not read it. Granted, it was a far less expensive card reader and people did not have very good things to say about, so I am just chalking it up to a bad reader.

Any opinions or comments?
