...perhaps they are sending em somewhere to be painted, but then it would be cheaper to ship the paint to the tanks rather than the other way around. Then again, the gubmint has never exhibited any tendency toward frugality or good planning.

Interesting. The first thing that crossed my mind was that these were probably tanks RETURNING from somewhere. Iraq?? But they aren't painted in desert camo, so that doesn't seem too likely.

I read a comment aying that they're painted in urban colors. Now that's VERY interesting. Could these be old tanks? I wouldn't know the difference between a modern tank and a 60 year old Sherman.
