I started following this Board 2-3 months ago but have not posted. I am all in on IDCC and was very stressed out the last 30-40 days. I was crushed on 1/23 and went out and had 4 martinis....needed numbing, if you know what I mean. I was fine with my shares, but saw my large options position (June 65's) as gone. For some reason in the next two days I became relaxed and started to feel quite good about the situation. I read DClark and TeeCee's posts and actually like what has occurred. I have a friend who always says that what originally looks like the worst day of your life later upon relection may actually be the best day of your life....and I now feel that way. I believe, after listening to the CAFC orals, at least 5-6 times, that we will get a favorable ruling. I also agree that the pressure has significantly increased on LG to sign a license. I also believe a hostile bid at 65 or 70 can occur at any time which could start the fireworks. Lastly I don't feel the pressure of a time deadline, like I have for the last 4 months, because I now for some reason think the pendulum has shifted to where "Time is on our side".
I beleive before, during or after the Nortel Auction Google made some sort of overture to IDCC. I support our managment. Mr. Merritt did not throw this out to the business world "on a flyer". Instead of biting, Merritt let Google know that we are interested in your thinking, but we have to see if we can do better in a bidding type process. I think the HUGE Google ego got the better of Google and Google basically said "Go to Hell" and they thereupon bought MMI. That temporarily hurt our SA process. But now things are different. We are going forward and someone IS GOING TO BLINK and make an offer because at this moment an offer of $65 will be accepted by the shareholders no matter what the Board recomends. $65 is a steal and therein starts the bidding war.
I think we get a favorable CAFC ruling and it will ignite the stock!!!! Good luck to all AND KEEP POSTING DCLARK!!!!
