Great post Loop. I think this process will put a fire under the arse of some infringers. It is better to deal with the devil you know vs the devil you dont. I am guessing that any new owner of Intergigitals patents would be less Frandly that Merritt. Any potential buyers are also aware that the patents could be encumbered soon. Seems like we might have the perfect storm coming in the next few months. Add to that the CAFC and it will be wild. Take care.
Can you imagine the effect of a reverse and remand from the CAFC? In all my years in this stock, I have never seen it more discussed in the investment circles. I believe Nortel has given us an out for being rate stuck due to the Apple license. If we can avoid a kneejerk license for a low rate from here forward, I am extremely excited about the future of IDCC. I have been getting much better sleep since the termination announcement. I have learned a golfswing that is less stressful on my back which I am eager to try. I have just been offered a consulting gig that pays far more than I ever expected. I am not sure I will take it, but the fact that I was recommended by a firm that I had bitter fights with in the past makes me feel good. Insiders are buying significant share amounts at the company. I feel like I just had a six month anchor removed my ass. Life is good.
