I been wondering what went wrong and have concluded that IDCC is not really good fit with anyone. We have NPEs that buy and license patents but don't create any. We firms that create patents but also make things using those patents (as well as licensing some.) IDCC, on the other hand, creates patents but produces nothing tangible. Part of it suits the NPEs and part of it would benefit the producers of things but no one really needs the whole package. I am hopeful that selling off various pieces to those who need only selected parts of the company will generate significant returns. Merritt cited two companies that combined sold off several hundred or so patents at an average price of $650,000 each. Maybe IDCC can scrape up 1000 or so from its trove and sell them at the same price. Of course, this will only add to a cash pile earning next to nothing. Let's see some real returns on cash for a change.

Bob,,You are probably correct.I myself believe that there were offers, unofficially,,floated around but something was blocking them from becoming official. We will probably never know but my finger would point at Google and their buddies in DC.I agree on buzzwords also and their piss poor PR dept leaves a lot to be desired, imo. Why can't they put out a press release when they have good news, announce advancements they have made? I really like someones idea of a licensing agreements with 10 real patent troll companies.Let the OEM's defend against them instead of just IDCC.I also wonder if Jobs was still alive the outcome would have been different?
