That is how I used to do it, too, and it worked perfectly.
I had to download Firefox because I was having ISSUES.
We used to have problems, now we all have issues.
They are freakin' problems, for god's sake!
So, I axe ya - I was using Explorer and the colors would not change when I had already read a message.
It was annoying.
I went to the PCAdvice Board and that is what they recommended.
I got to tawk to MICRO. What a guy!!
