Zim: Scott Rigell is my representative in the
United States 'house of reprehensibles'. I wrote
him a letter I plan on mailing tomorrow.

Dear Scott Rigell,

I read in my paper this morning where you went to lunch with Warren Buffett. And that you went into lunch a fervent ‘anti-tax-raiser’ and came out singing a tune that maybe it might be OK to ‘increase the revenue’.

The problem in Washington D.C. is not a lack of revenue.

No, the problem is a congress that consistently spends a LOT more than it has coming in.

Another problem is a president bent on stealing every dime he can to shower upon the heads of half wits and idiots who have done nothing to deserve any of it.

And the single biggest problem is a federal government that is in total and complete violation of the Constitution every one in it swore an oath to uphold.

Lets start with earmarks. No earmark is ever actually voted for (or against). The Constitution says that congress is supposed to vote before spending any of OUR Money. Earmarks are NOT voted on. Earmarks get tacked onto a Bill which is likely to get passed. (Which is why they call them ‘vehicles for passing spending legislation’ instead of ‘Bills’.) All incredibly Un-Constitutional.

Oh, I can hear the whiny little turds mewing about how ‘without earmarks they can’t get anything done’. And I have two thoughts on that. First, if a thing is not important enough for the entire congress to vote over it, it is not important enough to be spending ‘We The Peoples’ money on it. Second, earmarks are, all too often, used by thieves to steal OUR MONEY and waste it on things ‘they’ want to spend it on instead of things necessary to keep the entire country running.

Lets move on to welfare. And include all of those social welfare spending programs. Where in the Constitution does it say the federal government is supposed to provide food or housing or medical for anyone? Look close. It doesn’t. There is a section of the Constitution which says all those things should be the responsibility of the States.

Where in the Constitution does it say unemployment is supposed to be paid from Washington D.C.? It doesn’t. And there is a reason why such things are not supposed to be the responsibility of the federal government. Because when the federal pays for those things it becomes real easy for thieves in places like california and new york to steal money from places like Virginia and Texas.

You wanna talk about raising taxes?

Spread the pain around. And try to start moving things back towards being Constitutional again.

1.) Simplify the tax code. Eliminate a LOT of loopholes and deductions.
2.) Cap the home mortgage deduction at $25,000 a year. (Phase this one in over five years.)
3.) Everything anybody makes over $250,000 gets taxed at ordinary income rates. Regardless of source. (And scrap the ‘alternative minimum tax thingie at the same time.)

4.) Eliminate earmarks.

5.) There is a ‘making work pay’ piece of stupidity. End it. Reduce the tax rate on poor peoples and raise the ‘floor’ at which one becomes subject to federal tax but anything that even remotely gives anyone a ‘negative federal income tax’ needs to be outlawed.

6.) Abolish that ‘earned income credit’. For the same reason as number 5.

7.) Cut all federal welfare checks by 5%. And begin planning on how to phase welfare and all its responsibilities down to the State level.

8.) Plan on how to end HUD, the federal department of education, Clintons ‘cop on the street’ program, and any and every other such piece of federal spending at the local level. (All Un-Constitutional.) While we are at it, I hear there is a program by which ‘We The People’ are paying for poor peoples to have ‘free cell phones’. Another program which needs to be terminated.

Are you starting to get the idea?
Make the rich squawk by eliminating their tax breaks and ensuring they ‘pay their fair share’. Make the poor squawk by hacking away at the entitlements. Make the politicians squawk by taking away their opportunities for theft.

By the way. I caught a TV commercial where obama was crowing about how he has reduced our dependence on foreign oil. Obama ordered a moratorium on oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico. If we are becoming less dependent on foreign oil . . . it is in spite of obama – not because of him.
