the SA didn't make any sense to me, other than to prevent a hostile takeover. If rumors were correct someone came at IDCC and wanted to buy them...I believe IDCC entered into the SA to open the door to potential buyers, and prevent getting bought out on the cheap. I believe the SA was only a good move to show the contents of IDCC's value for a future buyout, but I think they could have done that without formally announcing an SA, and cutting themselves off from the shareholders by announcing no communications.

Does yesterdays announcement make it any more likely of a hostile takeover by one that kicked the tires or thinks it can be done for say 3-4 bil....Secondly was there no offer for the entire pie because IDCC set a min price and nobody wanted to pony it up....As in, if they set the min price at 6 bil and some offered 3 for bits and pieces might they come back with 3-4 bill for the whole enchilada......I am guessing some peaks under the hood promoted some interest just maybe not at the min price IDCC set for themselves?
