ok? so? what do you think could be the way forward? as i said, ive spent my time at ows ny and i even met some rp folks there, which got me thinking. so much of what is said about ows in generalizations is way way off the mark. same as wit rp and his supporters i think.

both of these grs are very, very much about giving to community and there is a very strong bond formed within the two groups which radiates out. lots of good, solid people in bth groups along w some strange folks and doubtless some sick folks -- but not near as sick as those sickophants who surrounded bush and now obama. talk to the contrary doesnt make reality to the contrary.

back to your point. even maslows hierarchy was a hierarchy and after earch need was sated -- survival, hunger, etc -- the motivating power of each level was gone and tehn people would need the next level. right? freedom has its place, too. there arent many in this country (not saying none, just not many) who are stuck at survival or hungerany more. some are stuck at sex, evidently ... especially politicians.

a lot of of yoru 'needs' also come down to lack of experience and trained helplessness, i want to say. for example, people have learned to 'think' that food comes from a store or a mcdonalds instead of, no, food comes from plants which someone grows. you can grow, too right?? a lot of rp people don't have much. many many even probably most are students or unemployed or work at normal jobs. but they accept helplessness and they are willing to do what they can and give what they can. i guess their brainwashing didnt take? i mean it isn't a real need if it requires brainwashing to learn how to need it, or if it can be met with knowledge and a little basic personal effort, is it?

capt nemo says somethign about learning hardyness, right? to a large degree weve learned to 'need' what we don't need and learned to be helpness. i know there are some who need care. dr paul seems to have a good record of donating medical care to those in need. most of all, though, it seems there is a lot jesus said about teaching men to fish which our government seems 100% set against. hell, they are even trying to outlaw people growign their own food. so going to the government asking for help is like a sheep going to a wolf and expecting food. you get food alright. you know what I mean?

Libertarians have convinced themselves that the primary urge of man is for freedom, which is of course nonsense. Survival, happiness, power, greed, and sex probably all precede freedom - maybe even a sense of belonging.
