700 billion a year is "cheap". Folks who have nothing worth stealing can get by with a weak military. The strong military is what keeps the global redistributionist at bay.

Uh, okay. To back that up, can you cite one significantly weaker country that is involved in more wars than we are? Just one, please.

You see, ribit, when a country spends this sort of money on its military, VASTLY more than it needs for its actual DEFENSE, its leaders tend to seek justification for the expense. One doesn't typically spend $700 billion per year on something that one doesn't intend to use, does one? I mean, *I* wouldn't. Would you?
