micro, I really like my Fire. The memory business is more a gimmick than a need,,,,,,Amazon stores on their cloud. Have you tried turning it sideways to change the view? I use mine even for RB when I am down for the evening. Also many News apps that give condensed stories with links to full details of any item.
I downloaded my Picasa Web Albums to a Favorite section and have done the same for many songs that I like. I admit to playing with the gadget continuously....trying to learn how to use it.

I am a newbie to Android and tablets but for the $ the Fire is a winner. I am not familiar with your device but there should be many blogs and forums.

How do you like that new FIRE you got for your son?

My daughter thought I needed a 7 inch Tablet , a Pandigital Novel with 2 GB of internal memory and expandable 32 Gig SDHC slot.

I am not sure I like the OS in it yet. It is an Android 2 something.

The problem I have is using it on the web. I cannot really see anything because it is so big on the screen and if I shrink it, then I see only a small piece of the page.

I know it was intended for a READER, but I likely will never use it as such.
I hope your FIRE is much better!
