Someone once estimate that in our location alone, that in the office there was something like 20+ different 'first languages' spoken. On a daily basis in addition to native-born Americans, I work with people from Russia, Israel, Argentina, Vietnam, China, Japan, Germany, UK, South Africa, Iran, India, Mexico, Singapore, Denmark, Canada, Bolivia, Cuba, Taiwan, etc.
We'll never have enough immigrants... Many are very highly skilled, but working, like our natives, below their skill levels because of various prejudices... At Bell Labs they brought in thousands of immigrants to help solve problems on the cutting edge... The Defense industry uses a lot of engineers from all over to fill the needs... Until education here is brought up to speed we'll need to bring in the help... Instead we see the dummies beating up the smart kids... Brilliant, eH?
