You will find that for 99.00 if you're patient and are willing to go Galaxy. I personally would spend the extra 20.00 and not have to think about a card named Galaxy. My EVGA bores me silly with its 10500 ppd day in day out and bored silly ain't a real bad thing, or put it this way, there are worse things. I fully agree that the 550 Ti is just in the sweet spot in terms of ppd per dollar, although it does pale slightly when I check it right after my 465's at 13500 ppd. It's still the value winner though.

I try real hard not to think about I-7's, my mind tends to start wondering if I'd dedicate a thread to the card so that the other 7 could go full bore to max out the exponential SMP bonus, not held up by its slowest thread which it would be if it ran 8, and then I remember stay away from prime numbers when you start getting up there and then I just get unhappy thinking oh I gotta get one and play, lol.

See, you have the easy out, spend a hundred and change and play with a souped up card for a bit.

ArVee, I am looking for rel at 550 Ti's.

There does not seem to be that much of a point production differential between that and a 560 to warrant the huge difference in price.

Do you see it that way too?

I am getting ready soon to pull the trigger.

What I would LIKE to do is take the 9600 GSO HOME and put it working there so we don;t lose the 3,000 PPD it does produce while adding the 550 Ti to the spare office computer the 9600 GSO is currently in.

Now, If I had a set up like BAP, which is a MONSTER machine, has an 8 thread processor (I-7 2600k combined with a superclocked GTX 460) we could really pick up some additional points!

That rig of his is truly nice. All kinds of power to spare.

Maybe some other day.........

I'll keep looking for my 550 Ti and let you know when I get ti successfully up and running.
