OK I give up! I finally found today that I had a check mark in T bird for announcing new e mails. I took care of that. I believe I had everything that had a MUTE option selected but I just logged on to a site that had loud sound. I prefer to have my sound OFF unless I choose differently. Micro, what do you think.
