[AP] Man charged in fatal rape of baby

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. An Albuquerque man is facing charges in the death of his girlfriend's 1-month-old daughter.
Bernalillo County sheriff's deputies say 37-year-old Juan Galindo was arrested Thursday on suspicion of aggravated sexual penetration and child abuse resulting in death.
Albuquerque television station KOB-TV reports that the infant likely died hours before anyone called 9-1-1.
A criminal complaint says the child's mother had been out shopping and at the casino. Galindo was watching the infant.
Authorities say the infant's pajamas were soaked in blood and she had multiple injuries, including evidence of sexual abuse.
Partial autopsy results show numerous brain bleeds, a lacerated liver and numerous rib fractures in different stages of healing.
It wasn't immediately clear if Galindo was the child's father. Authorities are awaiting the results of a DNA test.
Galindo will make his first court appearance Tuesday.
