While on vacation in Hawaii, Obama tapped Jerome Powell to serve on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors.
Powel served as the undersecretary for finance under the president George H. W. Bush and was a partner of The Carlyle Group. The Carlyle Group is a massive private equity firm and one of the largest defense contractors in the world.
They're made up of some of the most influential policymakers over the last five administrations including both Bush presidents, former Secretary of State James Baker III, former Secretary of Defense Frank Carlucci, former Clinton Chief of Staff Mack McLarty, and former SEC Chairman Arthur Levitt to name a few.
This again demonstrates that the old Republican/Democrat paradigm is as dead as the dodo; it's all the same group of crooks, trying to figure out how to soak We the People, rather than how to serve We the People.
The Federal Reserve is a private banking entity, and no more "Federal" than Federal Express. It loans money to the Federal Government AT INTEREST, which We the People, ultimately wind up having to pay back.
This vile practice continues, no matter the fact that the President is constitutionally enabled to have the Federal Government print money on its own, without going to an outside bank. Andrew Jackson did it; Abraham Lincoln did; and John F. Kennedy did it.
Every time the US has had had a private central bank dictate monetary policy, the economy of this country goes absolutely down the tubes. Take a look around you, and tell me, honestly, that's not what we are seeing happen right now in the US.
Of course, private bankers LOVE war, because of the debt burden it puts on both sides of the conflict.
That is a big factor in the current military misadventures in which the US government is embroiled, and - unfortunately - in potential future wars in the Middle East and elsewhere.
It is rarely THEIR kids who get blown to bits or maimed for life in these wars; it's always "other people's kids", who are always "expendable" to them in any military conflict.

Realist - Everybody in America is soft, and hates conflict. The cure for this, both in politics and social life, is the same -- hardihood. Give them raw truth.
