Word is Bob Kerrey might run again, for his seat.
He was their governor & senator in the past, well liked across the board.

As for Nelson, I'd rather have a republican than a democrat in name only.

By the way, the current republican governor is out of favor with many republicans, since his stance on the pipeline isn't in line with theirs.
So the voting could be really turned around in Nebraska.

That's a curious reaction from you. Perhaps you will explain? Nelson's retirement announcement is already being described as "a serious blow to Democratic efforts to hold onto their majority in the chamber next November."

If it's your view that he wouldn't have been able to hang onto his seat, you might want to re-think it. Republicans can now put their resources into OTHER elections. They should have an even easier time winning next year's Nebraska election if they don't need to fight off an incumbent.
