I Timothy 1: 15 tells us the reason for Christ's coming to this world, to be born in a lowly manger.

Micah 5: 2 prophesied HIS COMING
But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting .
What is CHRISTMAS all about?
The answer lies in the cradle in the manger in Bethlehem.
Luke 2: 11 says this:
"For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord."
The INN KEEPER there had no room for the birth of the LORD of LORDS and even today, men and women have no room for HIM in their hearts either. YET HE Pleads with them to trust HIM. Accept HIS finished work on the Cross as payment for THEIR SIN DEBT,
Yes, there is a payment due for our sins.
The Bible says "for the wages of sin is DEATH, and after this the judgement"
"For ALL have sinned, and come short of the glory of God".
EVERYBODY has a sin debt and everybody WILL DIE unless the Lord returns before we die.
But that sin debt MUST BE SATISFIED to a HOLY and JUST and RIGHTEOUS God.
We have already discussed that no unrighteous person shall enter into heaven.
Your sins which remain unpaid for will keep you out of heaven and cause you to suffer in hell for eternity.
Jesus CHRIST paid for your sins when HE SHED that HOLY, divine blood on the cross of Calvary.
He left Heaven's throne and glory to to just that, do the will of the FATHER and make a way of escape for all people to obtain mercy, righteousness and forgiveness from ONE GOD One time for all eternity.
The book of Hebrews in chapters 9 and 10 cover the sufficiency and power of the blood sacrifice on the CROSS by the Son of God.
THIS is WHY we celebrate CHRISTMAS, the birth of the Lord GOD the Son, who loved us, and became one of us, and died in my place on that cruel rugged Roman cross.
If you accept HIM as Savior and receive HIM you will have your SIN DEBT PAID IN FULL by JESUS HIMSELF.
HE is your ADVOCATE and INTERCESSOR with GOD THE FATHER. He says to the FATHER, "PUT HIS sin debt on MY ACCOUNT" and the FATHER says, "PAID IN FULL".
We cannot save ourselves nor can we keep all the laws.
That is why CHRIST came. That is what CHRISTMAS is all about.
The ANGELS knew it. The shepherds in the fields knew it. The WISE MAGII of the east knew it. MARY knew it and so did JOSEPH.
The Bible says to us that "Now is the accepted time, today is the day of salvation".
DO not put off another day of asking Christ to forgive you and to save you. Be forgiven. Be washed in the "BLOOD of the HOLY LAMB of GOD, which taketh away the sins of the world". John the Baptist declared.
Make this the Christmas that has true meaning for an eternity in your life.
READ LUKE chapter 2, the Christmas story and then bow your head and humble yourself before the CREATOR of ALL the universe who loved you, and gave HIMSELF for you.
Be washed in the blood and cleansed and made pure and white BY HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS.
