micro, back when I was a kid we visited an old mine is northern New Mexico or southern Colorado. There was a retiree who visited it five days a week. I am not sure but I think there was an entrance fee but you could keep all the gold you found. Gold then was $35 an ounce. The guy said he made enough money to pay his bills and have a little fun.
