A top Chinese law firm is joining forces with one of Australia's oldest law firms in what will be among the biggest law firms in Asia.
King & Wood, an 18-year-old firm with headquarters in Beijing, and Australia's Mallesons Stephen Jaques said Thursday that they are creating a firm that would have more than 380 partners and 1,800 lawyers in five countries.
The partnership, which will be completed in March, will be known as King & Wood Mallesons with its headquarters in Hong Kong, they said.
