Hi csl,
You remember the film the Mission? How those Jesuits went in amongst the savage heathens and converted them. Believe me. There are more ways to lead folks towards virtue and away from brutality than checking a little box. Many have open hearts and minds. Those who do not have families and friends that one day may change their minds. And even the most stubborn denier will find the worm of doubt eats away in them if their faith is established on sand. Or on principles which cannot abide the light of day. So long as they mind about the truth and about reality, rather than merely their determination not to change. That is not a place that a person can remain forever and remain content, even if pride provides fuel for a while. In the end, we want to open the shutters and let the sun shine in.
Let the sunshine. Let the sunshine in. The sunshine in.
There's still a believing hippie in you somewhere, csl. And it's singing. Let the sunshine in.
"Silence
Tells me secretly
Everything
Everything"
When you listen to that voice of silence in your heart, csl - then we will all rejoice with you. Because there is another way/ ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’
Let the sunshine in.
