re: "Did you watch?"
Some. Less than half.
re: "hit Newt between the eyes, without being nasty. Especially on Israel & Newts outrageous comment on Palestinians."
Newt's problems surround his inconsistency and judgement, not Israel or his "outrageous" comments on the Palestinians.
I don't really think they were "outrageous." If you recall, both Ron Paul and Rick Santorum said in the debate that Newt was essentially CORRECT about the Palestinians being an 'invented' people. The word was virtually unheard of in the 1970s.
The objection they had wasn't to the veracity of what he'd said, but to the fact that in so saying, he'd made things more difficult for an ally of ours (Israel) and further damaged our relationship with the Arab world.
But whoever it was who said that this was a LITTLE issue hit it on the head. No one is going to change their feelings about Newt Gingrich as a result.
*I* think Newt should be criticized over his many flip-flopped issues - far more than I ever realized, and many where he now or previously took the same messed up views as the President. He supported Individual Mandate. He supported Cap & Trade. Who knows what we might expect from such a person? He might even turn out to be as bad a President as Obummer! (No, not really. My point, though, is that voters would have a difficult time knowing what they'd get with Gingrich.)
I don't believe that Gingrich is likely to push very hard to get Obamacare repealed. And that disaster of a law has GOT to go. I doubt he'll do anything much about the illegal alien problem. He's a Keynesian, and I don't think he's sincere about dismantling the Fed. And he would almost certainly continue the trend of recent Presidents who've pillaged the country to enrich himself.
So, Newt's not for me. But he's still better than the walking disaster holding the office today.
