And by the way, tkc, in general, I respect and usually support your posting. I have no problem with you taking issue with the Sprague family and other insiders.

For instance, I thought the whole WXP team should have lost their jobs in failure. The architects in particular should have lost their jobs, rather than the people tasked with selling it and/or developing it. The fact that the Sprague family members were somehow exonerated from the consequences was a disgrace in my eyes. For me, a failure on that scale and the response called into question the board itself. Its decision to keep the project going so long after it was obviously a failure and it became clear the folks who ran it had no idea what to do about it made it very clear Wave's board is not all that one might wish it to be - even if I disagree with the remedies that have been suggested. Frankly, the choices available under corporate governance rules are poor all around.

So holding their feet to the fire is important. No one wants to give them a free pass. I just don't think the military doctrine of collateral damage operates in these circumstances.

Again, this is simple inference. You have no reason to believe it. You just think it "may" be so.

You see that Robert Thibadeau works for the company. He may be a sociopath. Therefore it is reasonable to speculate that he is?

You see that Lark Allen works for the company. He may be a Neo Nazi. Therefore it is reasonable to speculate that he is?

One can make almost anything up. But absent any kind of evidence, where a "may" becomes an "is", it is a product of imagination rather than reality. I think a vulnerable young person's reputation deserves more protection than that from folks who have lived a while and who care about decency.

I understand that these boards can desensitize people. But there are still things more important than money.

I don't aim to differ with you, tkc. I want you to see things differently. I think your head has been turned by over-exposure to skilfully spun cynicism. I am trying to help you straighten it up again. I don't think you are a nasty person. But drawing this young girl into the conversation is a nasty thing, and you are pursuing the path others have gone along. She deserves your protection and I think you will give it to her when you think what you are doing and how insensitive you are being with your speculations. You daub her with the brush you think you are using to paint Sprague.

"Ifs" and "mays" will not do.
