Was anyone here aware that it's a violation of federal law to leave the country with more than $5 worth of pennies? Apparently this law was put on the books when Copper was considered to have military value and it has never been rescinded, despite the fact that US Pennies have not been made using Copper since 1982, when they switch to Copper-plated Zinc planchets.
