Funny, I hated peas too. I think as a child they were mushy, now they are flavorful & I don't cook them to death.

Parsnips are good roasted with some honey & butter.
Fennell is also tasty roasted, extra virgin olive oil & S&P, takes most of the anise flavor away.
I like it raw in a salad too.

Time for lunch ;))

I really only like raw turnips, fresh from the garden, the only two veggies I cannot tolerate is parsnips and rutabagas.. They had an aftertaste that gagged me as a kid, so if I see menus with "root vegetables" listed, kiss it goodbye...

Ham-hocks n beans, or a lima bean w/ham, I can go for it.. But, normally I'll dodge lima beans... Peas were my kids downfall, still to this day, they avoid 'em..
